Cast-A-Mold Platinum is a food grade platinum (addition) cured silicone rubber used for a variety of applications. It exhibits an easy 1:1 mix ratio, low viscosity, excellent tear strength, tensile strength, elongation, heat deflection, and long library life. Cast-a-Mold Platinum can be used to make translucent rubber molds for casting candies, cakes, polyurethanes, epoxy's, polyester's, cement, concrete, soap, wax, plaster, etc.. It is user friendly, translucent, FDA compliant, and will cure at room temperature.

Platinum cured silicone rubber can be heat accelerated. For example if you heat the mold  at 150 f the cure time will be reduced from 8 hours to 30 minutes.

Note: For food applications you will need to wash the cured mold with warm water and soap before using.

Addition cured silicone rubber may be inhibited by certain contaminants resulting in tackiness on the surface of the mold. Latex, sulfur based clays, tin cured silicone rubber, amines, nitriles, organo-metallic salt containing compounds should be avoided. If you are unsure of the compatibility of the substrate being molded a small test is recommended. To prevent inhibition it is usually helpful to coat the pattern with a clear acrylic lacquer or paint. Do not use polyurethane or latex.

This silicone is so easy to work with and it picks up the smallest most intricate details. It works great with UV resin and has enough flexibility to be used with chocolate.

    Lure Molds

Posted by Tyler on Jul 26th 2021

After a little bit of a learning curve with making a mold box for this product and a couple hundred dollars spent on this product, I'm very satisfied with results. After pouring a thin coat on my master and letting the air bubbles come to the surface, pouring the remaining material is a breeze and the final product is nice and smooth with very minimal blemishes.

This is a great, easy to use silicone. I am an artist and I make molds of my work, and although this is not inexpensive, it is easy to use and there is no waste.
